You may have seen the piece about the King’s in the Entertainment Guide which was much appreciated except that it said the event was Tomorrow whereas it’s NEXT SUNDAY. We didn’t dare fix it for Sunday 1 July in case England reached the Euro 2012 Final

just spent two enjoyable days working on the music – so far there will tracks from Geno Washington, Alan Bown Set, Move, Steam Packet, Graham Bond, Yardbirds, Zoot Money, Manfred Mann, Little Richard (well he did play the Birdcage)The Action,Small Faces, Pink Floyd,Who, Pretty Things, Stones, Alan Price, Ventures?(well I bet you musos played instrumentals in the front room)Alan Price Set, Downliners Sect, Long John Baldry, Cream,Ciiff(Cliff???),Goldie and Gingerbreads, Early Motown and Atlantic Classics(Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Wilson Picket etc), Jimmy James and Vagabonds, Charlie and Inez Foxx, Simon Dupree , Jon Isherwood plus 60`s hits by various artistes you may have seen at the Guildhall wherever- maybe medley time instead of full tracks (a dj expression!) – any other suggestions welcome- most of the above have “Pompey”connections so hope they will bring back good memories- see us dj`s don`t always think of Katie Perry – oh I don`t know….

Ike and Tina Turner, John Mayall,Herbie Goins, Alan Bown Set, The Move, The Family, Gene Vincent, Gary Farr, Amboy Dukes, The Creation, Bo Diddley (ok, he didn’t turn up but- so what- he should be on every dj’s playlist at every venue in the world!), Jesse Fuller, The Clayton Squares, Unit Four +Two (they used to be a soul band!), Sugar Pie Desanto. Just to name a few!!
