Polite Mechanicals for Palestine

The Polite Mechanicals are a bunch of local musicians who play songs from all over on accordion, fiddle, banjo, guitar, double bass etc. On Friday week (30 January)  they are appearing at the Art Café, Victoria Park (7.30). Also on the bill is Ayman Yousef who is a Palestinian Oud player. It’s £8 (£6 concessions) and all proceeds are to provide medical aid for Palestinians.

  1. That sounds very interesting. It’s nice to take in some ‘world’ music sometimes. I love the desert (Mali etc.) blues that has hit the music scene over the last decade.
This Friday, 23rd January, King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys are at the Ashcroft Arts Centre. Worth seeing (hearing) !!

  2. Great name – Polite as opposed to Shakespeares “Rude Mechanics” presumably. I’ll be there if they add a Crumbhorn, Rebec and Hurdy Gurdy!
