Rock Shots, 50 years of music photography in Portsmouth, the new Summer exhibition at the Portsmouth Music Experience is opening at Portsmouth Guildhall soon. The exhibition, the work of eleven local photographers, the youngest being in their 20’s and the oldest in their 70’s, promises to be an interesting mix of images of local and national bands who have played in, or visited, Portsmouth, over the last 50 years.  The exhibition officially opens on the 15th April, but we are having a preview evening on the 14th April from 7 pm until 9 pm, any blog readers who would like to see the exhibition and the new developments are welcome to come to the preview. The Portsmouth Music Experience exhibition has a website at www.portsmouthmusicexperience.org.uk
Portsmouth Music Experience Radio will begin broadcasting online in May with an eclectic mix of local presenters who will be bringing programmes of pop, blues, soul, folk and indie music. A test broadcast of 1960s music presented by Pete Cross can be heard at the station’s website at www.portsmouthmusicexperienceradio.org.uk
