Here’s a neat quiz from Nigel (I don’t know the answer)
“After yesterdays recording session with Dave I left the Guildhall so missed Paul Windsor and Craig Duffy, tour manager for Blur and Duran Duran, who arrived to see the Rock Shots exhibition. When they left the receptionist gave Paul an envelope someone had left to pass on to me. It contained 5 black and white autographed photographs of bands in Portsmouth in the 1960s, including a guitarist from a local band (to follow). This photograph of the bass player of a well known visiting group looking out of a Guildhall window was one of them. The band ended in 1966, changed it’s name then made one of the defining records of 1967.
‘After he left the group, he became disillusioned with the pop scene and decided not to pursue a commercial musical career. He went to Leeds University where he studied for a degree and masters in music and now runs a very successful business teaching the flute. He is a member of a classical music quartet and occasionally plays in an early modern chamber music group called Estampe.’”
