I’m sorry to report the death of Joy Beverley (centre), one of the three lovely sisters who for sure played summer seasons on South Parade Pier. For some of us back then, she was also the original ‘Posh’ – married to Wolves and England captain Billy Wright

  1. Remember seeing them on an Isle of Wight ferry about 1957 going over to play a gig on Sandown Pier. What a glamorous threesome they made too-incidentally when did anyone last get called ‘glamorous’-discounting glam-rock of course

  2. The late Arthur Haynes had a summer show which he brought to South Parade Pier, i seem to recall the Beverley Sisters were part of that show, but i was only about 8 or 9 and memories are hazy, very different times.

  3. If you’re wondering why nothing much is happening here, the whole WordPress Blog site seems to have seized up. I’m unable to post anything.
