Next character is Pete Gurd another school pal, who was the first really important music-making influence in my life – We were together in Harlem Speakeasy but before that we had a duo of guitar and harmonica playing old acoustic country blues stuff, which should help with the first bit

  1. On Monday 3 January 1966 I went up to his place (school holiday) and borrowed an LP (to record) by what was at that time the best known guitar/harmonica duo in the blues field. Who were they?
  2. On Tuesday 4 January 1966 I went to the Birdcage and paid five bob to see a British R&B act from out east. They were a four-piece with a keyboard player, playing songs similar to the Stones’ repertoire of the time but later had a pop-psychedelic hit record under a different band name in the ‘Summer of Love’. They were?
