  1. RIP, Andy. A real ‘sound’ of that time. Who couldn’t not recognise his signature tunes ? X

  2. It’s such a same when musicians , artists of all sorts, .die at a really young age. Music is a classic example, but one must not forget the great artists of that time, Francis Bacon, Leonard Frued. To name some that died before their time

    • Presumably you’re referring to Lucien Freud? He was in his late eighties when he checked out, and Francis Bacon was also in his eighties, and no spring chicken, when he departed.

  3. you know , I thought there was something in the air

  4. I saw him in the hospitality tent at The Isle Of Wight Festival a few years ago when I was with Terry Reid & his band. He was wandering around inspecting the sandwiches and drinks in a bemused manner. I didn’t realise he was musician, I thought he was lost! Then I overheard Andy Fraser from Free who was standing nearby (another R.I.P..) say to his companion “Oh look, it’s Thunderclap Newman!”. I didn’t see him play unfortunately, I was too busy looking after Terry!
