Keep on keeping on

I see the young Rolling Stones are about to release a ‘blues’ album. Meanwhile the bloke that inspired them, perhaps as much as any, is also releasing a new album

Many thanks to Mr Tench for alerting us to the fact the truly great CHUCK BERRY* has a new album out to celebrate his 90th birthday

Gives the rest of us the incentive to carry on!

*I do believe that – one of the greatest – although it covers a period of around ten years when he wrote some quite magical songs which clearly deserve a Nobel Prize. Since then I guess he’s pretty much focused on bringing in the cash – but I can’t blame him.

  1. Afew years back,Chuck and Jerry Lee Lewis were at the Guildhall. The News said”every old rocker on the south coast was there” And we were! Jerry Lee was a complete let down. Chuck saved the day. a wonderful set. And he did the “duck walk”.

  2. I wonder if there is any ‘muso’ of our generation (65-75) who has never played a Chuck Berry song? I’d doubt it
