Still going (strong?)

I’m just back from the Sirloin of Beef gig  – it was a great afternoon too. The pub was packed, people stayed, and it was a proper Pompey Sunday afternoon with Bingo and a meat raffle.

We played three sets of 45+ minutes each (and an encore) and it all went rather nicely – the only thing is, I’m knackered. It’s not quite like it was 50 years ago …

  1. You, and all the rest of us too! (LOL)

  2. We are now at the age where at the end of the gig we have more appreciation for Roadies than Groupies.

  3. Not too sure what is worse. Loading in and out in snow and rain or 95F heat ?

  4. Not too much snow here Pete! Maybe a bit wet sometimes, but not too cold either. Luckily these days my amp only weighs 6.5kg, so no need for a roadie!

    • If I sit in with a band or an open mic I turn up with some harmonicas in my pocket but at a gig like yesterday there is a PA amp, two speakers, two speaker stands, four mic stands, a box of leads, plug board and microphones etc – maybe it’s time for a megaphone …

  5. question is……did anybody eat like they did in days of old ????https://www.hymnsandcarolsofchristmas.com/Poetry/knighting_of_the_sirloin_of.htm
