Butch Trucks RIP

(Thanks to JR) Around the time that I was deciding ‘rock’ music wasn’t for me this fine lot, the Allman Brothers, came along. I often forget how much I liked them, but boy were they an unlucky band! Just think, (for example) all five members of the original Country Joe & the Fish, Manfred Mann, or Simon Dupree are still out there, many still performing, while no fewer than six members  of the Allman Brothers have passed

(JR): “The third of the original members of The Allman Brothers Band has died …. Butch Trucks died on Tuesday evening in West Palm Beach, Florida. The cause of death is currently unknown. He was 69. Butch was the  drummer with the Allman Brothers since they formed in 1969,  right through to 2014, when the band finally folded”.

(I hope this plays properly – there may be a glitch?)
