And the answer is …?

Sent from Graham Laker (cheers) who said: “Here’s a good one for you – from the latest ‘Private Eye’ – stumped me at first – but only for a few minutes – clever one!”

Stumped (how I love these cricket terms) me too! I haven’t a clue – but I’m pretty sure it’s not Gerry Marsden and Garcia spells it with a J. If you know the answer, tell the rest of us

  1. Adams ?

  2. Gerry Rafferty from his Stealers Wheel days- ‘Stuck in the Middle with You’
As it says -‘Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right,”

    • Well done Mr G – and Chris ‘Fossy’ who had problems getting through but he got it too! I’ve heard it of course but 1970s? I was almost completely out-of-touch with contemporary music by then and building up my stocks of Muddy Waters, Sleepy John Estes etc!

  3. He did a version which was banned by the B.B.C. : “Stuck In The Middle of Ewes”. It was a Welsh love song.

  4. Indeed, they gave it the….chop !!
