B is for …

Brian Matthew?

Well it’s not really, but check this and add a name if you wish. Thanks to Ray Tarbet

I trust by now everyone knows that the great Brian Matthew was axed by the BBC (thank you Lewis Carnie) who took advantage of an injury sustained by Brian at home to remove him at the age of 88. Please voice your opinion by signing the petition to reinstate BM using the following link:

  1. Come on, Doctor D – Got to be ‘The Birdcage’ at the top of the list!
By the way, wasn’t Tony Blackburn’s ‘SOTS’ prog the worst ever. Just reminded me why I never listened to him in the ’60’s. I remember a good quote from you at the time saying about his Mid-Atlantic accent – ‘yes, that’s where he should be in the Middle of the Atlantic – things haven’t changed much, have they.

    • I did say “not really” and yes, of course it will be top of the list. Blackburn (who will NOT be in the Bs) was truly awful – I listened to the recording later that day

  2. Apologies, Dave – I must be losing it.
