“I’ve always sung soul …”

“… and I’ve always sung Stax”

Who would that be then? (No it’s not the lovely Mr Freeman – although it could be)

It’s a fairly big news story about a London concert in my newspaper of choice this morning.

All will be revealed of course, but have a guess …

  1. Gotta be the atrocious Mr Tom Jones – and he never has – sang soul, that is.

  2. Got it in one Mr Laker. It’s some big concert tribute as part of the Proms. Some of you might recall that a few years ago, Martin Scorsese made a TV series about the blues which included one episode on the 60s British boom in which he assembled a house band with a couple of reasonable choices, Van Morrison and Jeff Beck, plus two great 60s British blues singers Lulu and Tom Jones. The guy has a bullshit ego bigger than his voice.
