Come On In My Kitchen

There’s going to be rain …

Kitchen

INCIDENTALLY

Talking of the good-old down-home Country Blues:

Tomorrow Night (a Lonnie Johnson tune as it happens)

Hans Theessink and Brooks Williams are next up at The Bullfrog Blues Club in
Southsea on Thursday May 3rd. These superb artistes share a love for the
old songs, ensuring the blues tradition is alive and well in the hands of
these two ambassadors of country blues. Performing together and on their
own, you’ll hear Piedmont fingerpicking and bottleneck slide and great
vocals

Sorry to have been away for a while. MRA is having a new kitchen built, life is chaotic, and I’ve just this morning completed a new cricket book. Anyway, while I was away, that Humble Pie project has come to fruition with the album and a whole bunch of stories, a photo of a Pier gig, and lots of credits, including this (n.b. last paragraph):

GIG

Scarlet Town at the Barley Mow this Thursday evening, and my apologies to Rod, Marc etc for forgetting to alert you to them there, yesterday afternoon – although Nigel Grundy tells me there was a fine turn-out.

Down the Road Apiece

Graham Laker sent this, reckons it was a special birthday party at the Wedgewood Rooms for ex-Hot Rod and Basins man Jim Lawrence – I couldn’t date it on first look but I guess about 30 years ago and me with my mate Lenny – were we playing together then in the Reds? Quite possibly.
