Back We Go

TUXEDO JUNCTION are performing for the annual D-Day celebrations over at the Golden Lion in Southwick, this coming Saturday June 8th.
It’s an outside event but with plenty of cover. In the afternoon will be music from Amy Baker, TJ follow from approx 3pm until 5.30pm with a break.
In the evening will be the Maury Dean Big Band. There’s lots to see, eat, drink and you have the option to dress in appropriate wartime attire. Some of them really go to town but it’s not essential.
(Doesn’t Rod always dress like that?)

  1. I thought Rod was the one drawing up your contracts Dave

  2. After all my waffle on the D-Day gig, I had to pull out half an hour beforehand, suffering from swollen feet or gout to you. Before anyone puts it down to booze, anything can trigger it off and believe me, its bloody painful when it happens Consequently, I could’nt get my shoes on, could hardly walk, all in all, a miserable weekend. Luckily the band could carry on without me so it all went well in the end.

  3. Well hope you are doing better Rod. Getting older sucks. Now I know why old guys wear shoes that use velcro instead of laces. I believe that Ray Thomas of the Moody Blues suffered badly with gout for many years. When you think how many miles our feet carry us it is hardly surprising we have issues when we get older. Glad you are back on your feet. All the best.

  4. Dave Allen,

I wondered if you were a teacher st St Lukes School in the early 80’s from about 1981 to 1985, the head at the time was the Late Hugh Benzie and deputy heads Mike Fletcher and Mrs Wakeley, I am sure it was youself that taught media studies and the school was then in 4 houses Partridge, Lovett, anderson and fleming. Jean Outen was the house head for partridge and Trina Catling Now treharne was lovett, i recall Ron Davies was fleming also a maths teacher and think Anderson was Mr higgins. also there was jack grant ava resources and Alison Appleyard music, Lynne Stagg earth science, Peter Fisk and sue corbett physics and Mr gudgeon sadly now passed. not forgetting Sheila fellows and Chad sanker recently retired Sue Jackson and Ian langford also sadly no longer with us. I do remember Dave Gosden and Jan Hardacre, Celia Baker also sadly no longer with us Clare Rowe, Mr rogers metalwork, Mr Raddice wood work and technical drawing. Mrs Hoadley RE, Mr Reigler German, Miss baker French and also Mademoiselle Reynard. think i can list the whole list of teachers Mr Skinner, Mrs Menzies, Mrs Fewings who became Midford, mrs Pishka needlework, Sue rooms pottery, mr young PE and Mr Lubbock.

I think thats everyone. be great to catch up after all those years for me it was a great time and great teachers

  5. Hello Natalie – that’s right, it’s me! Good memory you have. I see Trina Treharne and Claire Rowe around Southsea occasionally but no one else. I do have some St Luke’s ex-pupils on my Facebook site and to be honest I hardly ever use this site these days – are you on Facebook.
